AIR INTAKE MOD, will this work??

I did the intake mod, and I picked up all of the appropriate adapters but I found it easier to do it this way. Will this setup work? It runs and drives just fine... just making sure it wont blow anything up.

Those two tubes are to release pressure inside the engine and put it back into the intake chamber.

Our trucks are extremely overbuilt so I don't think its a problem, but if you ever supercharge or turbocharge it I would recommend venting that crankcase pressure somewhere because there would be a lot more of it.

The lower circle, where does this metal line go to? I cant seem to feel any vacuum on it. Can I just cap it and put a filter on the other side?? Or should I leave it as is.

edit: I found a link on the forum. Im still unsure tho.

""To reduce HC emission, crankcase blow–by gas is routed through the PCV valve to the air intake
manifold for combustion in the cylinders""

http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...n/positive.pdf

So in reality, I'm just ditching emmisions stuff but increasing internal pressure which would be bad. So if I left these open they can still vent??? hrm now im confuzed

next thing to do is remove that little box beside the intake box. Post up what it sounds like and how it accelerates and if it stays cool on hot days.

Don't you have one valve cover breathing to the other valve cover now? If so, bye bye seals/gaskets.

Already working on it, just forgot to pick up hose clamps.

Yeah... Is it better to have a hose between the 2 cylinders, or just leave them open?? I'm trying to hook them up to my intake but I dont have an appropriate sized drill for the bit. My chuck is too small.

you cant leave them open, they require pressure to keep the engine running, if you remove the hose the engine wont run.

Where did you get the pipe from? I would maybe just put a breather filter on the one that comes off the VC. The one in the lower left circle you can cap (especially if you blocked off your EGR).

take that back apart, before you mess up your engine. Both tubes are designed to relieve pressure back into the intake. If you have them looped, you are creating a closed-loop pressure system. Upon deceleration, the reed valve (at the end of the first tube) opens, and allows excess pressure out and back into the intake. The second one is obviously crankcase ventilation. You are forcing air back into a place that should have air exiting.

Sounds like a simple common sense issue. Toyota engineers are a hell of a lot more intelligent than us so I'd hook those tubes back up to the stock location, I'd trust their judgment.

I agree. I generally stick pretty close to stock as far as the engine goes cause the truck is engineered beautifully and everything is made to work with what's stock, not all these mods.

I took it off this morning and I'm finishing it proper. I'll take pictures of the final product as I've made mine differently than the 1st picture I showed. I used 2 strait 1/2 adapters, threaded the exaust tube and used liquid electrical tape to seal it all. I'll find out tomarrow if it all goes on strait forward.
