Aftermarket 15" Enkie wheels: tire sizing assistince please!

Hey yota tech,

This may be my first thread in this neck of the woods, but I have been involved in the enthusiast community for quite some time. I opted out of creating a new user thread since I had a specific question that needed answering quickly. I am excited to become a part of your community and learn as much as possible about my car.

I have already used the search function in an attempt to find an answer to my question.

I just bought my first 3rd gen runner and am very happy with the SR5 4wd trim as of thus far. I need to get some new A/T tires for my 15" enkie stockers but my selection when compared to the 16" stockers is paltry in comparison. The 16" can also accommodate a wider tire that I would like to have for snow/ice/etc.What is the largest width/sidewall i can squeeze on those tiny 15" wheels? I already have found out the largest possible on the 16", but cannot find much on these.

Thanks!

I'd assume 31x10.5 would be acceptable, though you didn't mention if you planned to lift or not.

32x11.50 if the Enkies are 8 1/2"-9" wide. I have seen some 33x12.50's on 9" wide Enkies but I think that may be pushing it. I run 33x12.50 on my Enkie 10" wide wheels and 31x10.50 on my Enkie 9" wide wheels. The wheels are identical model 30 units except for width.

Thanks for the replies, the current tires are 235/75/15 with plenty of wheel well to spare. I looked at the wheels and I cannot see any width indication from the outside. I am not looking to lift the car, I just want to try and get a wider A/T tire for the snow.

I am familiar with on road performance models, what are some good deep tread A/T tires that still have decent life/performance on the road?

Just went outside and looked in the door jamb and I saw 15x7J. I assume that is the width. These enkie wheels are "teardrops" and appear to be a dealer installed option.

I run the Dick Cepek Fun Country II Radials. I ran Armstrong Norsman Radials for 80,000 miles on the first set, 70,000 miles on the second set then Armstrong went out of business. The Fun Country II Radials have the same tread pattern, design, etc. They are quiet on the highway, good in sand / mud and provide a great ride. I do not know what the maximum mileage will be on my 31x10.50 x15 Fun Country II Radials yet since I only have a little over 6,000 miles on them.
