ABS question

ABS question

so when i try to brake on snow the brakes basically won't push down unless i hit them again and it makes some noise, is that just the ABS, its a 95 4runner

I would think that the brakes should go down the first time regardless. If the wheels are locking up at first, then the brakes make noise/the pedal shakes then yes that is the abs.

Having this same problem

Hi, was just searching the forums and found this, i have the same problem, little bit of wheel slip when braking on loose gravel on snow and the brakes bounce and the pedal does the whole abs thing but you cant push it back down and it just locks up. Scary at times. Is there a fix or can you disconnect the ABS all together cos its over rated anyway.
