95 4runner T-case ????

95 4runner T-case ????
I TRIED TO SHIFT MY 4RUNNER INTO 4LO (AUTO TRANNY IF IT MATTERS) AND IT WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR. I CRAWLED UNDERNEATH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A KNOB THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE INSIDE A RUBBER BOOT THAT WAS OUT. WHEN I LOOKED INSIDE THE BOOT I SAW WHAT USED TO BE A METAL SPACER BROKEN IN TWO. 1) WHAT IS THIS SPACER FOR? WHAT IS IT CALLED SO I CAN GET A NEW ONE? BY THE WAY, TRUCK GOES INTO 4LO AFTER BEING RESET IN THE RUBBER BOOT.

Same thing happened to Molly's.
It's the shift linkage, there's a bushing in there that you;ll have to order from the dealership.
In her case, the cause was a worn tranny mount allowing that stuff to move around too much, so check that too.
