95 4runner - 5 speed problems

I have a 95 4runner, 5 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift. I have been fixing its oil leaks (3.slow) and other miscellaneous quirks... I havent driven this thing very much due to it mainly being a project, but ive noticed something everytime I do. When ever changing gears the rpms jump as they rise and it acts like the clutch isnt fully engaging. What could this be? Bad flywheel? Bad clutch? Bad pressure plate? The dust cover for the flywheel is also gone if thats worth mentioning. Thanks for your help in advance.

I would check the slave cylinder, I have had them to go bad or something from the pedal to the slave cylinder is not adjusted correctly. I have seen plenty of dust covers missing and no issues if not ran thru mud. I would suggest getting one back on to prevent the clutch from getting contaminated but it isn't an automatic trouble area if the truck is not used an a dirty environment.

i would take a good look at the pedal bracket assembly and loosen the rod behind the pedal if its super tight. that or the clutch is shot
