in the never-ending quest for cheap upgrades to my 87 pickup I stumbled across a 94 4runner in the salvage yard that had a nice rear view mirror with dual lights (my 87 was ragged and the cover was gone from the only light). The plug is a direct swap and 2 of the mounting screws match up but the recessed areas for the 2 light wells need to be cut out of the inner roof metal and the two holes tappede for the outside screws.

ok, done!
electrical hook up is straight up, it plugs right in. As far as the mounting screws I used the 2 that went right into the original mirror/light mounting holes. The pics give you an idea of the process! :wabbit2:

its a VERY bright light courtesy of the brightest bulbs i could get @ Advance Auto

 

I did the same thing in my 89 love the newer style, those first gen map lights werent bright enough for me.
