just bought a 94 4runner that is in perfect shape other than a blown HG. drove it home, no engine knocking but white smoked the whole way.
i'm pretty proficient with tools and am planning on doing the repairs myself.
i've searched and read numerous post about HG problems but was hoping for some "you better watch out for" or suggestions on the best way to tackle this little project.

Call 800-331-4331, give them your VIN, and they will be able to tell you if you fall under the head gasket recall, and the steering relay rod recall. My '94 fell under both, yours might, too. If your does, call your local dealer, and talk to them 'bout getting it taken care of. Would be much less of a headache for you, and cheaper if you do fall under the recall.
