92 Land Cruiser wobbly fan, threw fan belt

I have a 92 land cruiser. I noticed the belt started to screech, i watched the fan and it had a intermittent wobble while spinning. I drove it home, it screeched a few more times. Drove it a few days later and it started to overheat, I noticed the fan belt was gone. What could be the cause, fix and price?

thanks,

J

Likely fan clutch, or water pump bearing. Are you mechanic enough to put your hand in there with the engine off and cold and move things around enough to find out ??

Hope you didn't cause more damage by running it hot. Continued operation after a fault is detected and ignored can get expensive.

Thanks Mill! It hasnt ran since I noticed it missing the belt. I'll mention that to my mechanic since it is getting rare to find people with knowledge of the older cruisers. Any idea on price to repair so I don't get gouged?

It all depends just how hot you managed to get the engine .

Might be a simple water pump or Head gaskets

Time will tell so figure @$150.00 to over $1000.00 should be in the ball park
