91 3.0 into a 94 3.0 4runner

I just put a 91 Runner 3.0 into my 1995 pickup with no issues at all. The mechanic said he had to swap around some brackets and stuff to get the belts to align correctly but said it wasnt a big deal. I used ECU from 91 and it runs fine. No CEL or anything.
They must have slightly changed the engine midway through 91 because the only thing i've recently noticed is when I've gone for parts for the 91 3.0 they have asked for the manuf. date Or VIN #. I think they changed sometime in May or June. My 91 3.0 turned out to be the newer engine so maybe that is why I didn't have an issue with the swap.
