89 4wd v6

I just bought a 89 4wd with the v6. The v6 blew up but didn't sling a rode. I also have a 22r that I think is an 83 model engine. which one would be better to rebuild for this truck. I would love to here everyones opinion im not familiar with either engine.

The 22r might give you 100 hp, while the 3vze will give maybe 150 hp. Add on the fuel injection of the 3vze, plus the already existing wiring, transmission, and mounts, and it seems the V6 is the way to go.

If you're interested in a swap, then the 3.4 V6 may be an option for you.. Closer to 190 hp and you can use the mounts and most of the wiring from the 3.0.

Thanks for the input, I talked to a guy from LCEngineering. He was telling me of a headgasket and head bolts that they recommend and so far they haven't had any problems. I definitely dont really want to get into a lot of modifying if I dont need to.

Stay with the V6. You would need new motor mounts welded in and a complete wiring swap, with the 22r tranny swap.
