So my questions are:

I have a 1995 4runner with no engine.

i have a running/rebuilt 1988 3.0 v6

is the swap from my 88 engine into my 1995 going to be straight forward or are there some differences i should be watching out for? for instance can i use the computer engine control thats already in my 95 or do i need to swap over to the 88's comp?

I would swap everything over, just to be sure. It should work with either ECU, but sometimes they are funny.

The big question is if it's legal or not. In some places, you can only swap in a NEWER motor.

 

i live where it wouldnt make any difference, but besides who is checking anyway. im really hoping this swap goes smooth! the runner is going to be my daily driver and as soon as its done i can sas my 89 pick up.

anyone else have any input or suggestions?

 

I would swap in a more realiable motor than the 3.0v6 and swap in a 4.3chevy v6 from an 01 s10 you will be happier in the long run

 

Power wise yea it would be a better swap
