I recently purchased a 86 4runner. I replaced the engine and set the timing at 5 degrees as specified but now it suffers from a serious lack of power. I adjusted it by ear until it ran good and had sufficient power but now the idle is at 1500rpm. I found the T terminal on the drivers side fender and shorted it but had the same result. Does anyone know how to set the timing correctly?
