Does anyone know if there is anything special to puting an 86 22r into an 82 that had a 22r ? I was told i needed to change the engine mounts take the 86 off and put the 82 on the engine. I was also looking for a good carb and intake combo and header to put on for reasonable money if thats possible,

I put a 82 22r into a 86 and just used the 86 mounts and all the external components. So you should be able to do the opposite with without a problem.

 

i wanted to keep all the orignal smog stuff in place, (use the same intake with all that crap still hooked up) but the heads are different. going to wait to find a 22re to delete all that. just going to re-do the bottem end of the '82 22r for now. shame, 86k orignal miles and the cylinders/rings are toast.
