'85 crossover steering help

I have a '85 truck that currently has the stock steering and no lift. I have all of the parts for the crossover steering conversion, but when I hold the parts about where they should go, it doesn't seem like they will fit. Do I need a lift in order to put the crossover on? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea you need some suspension lift or the drag link and tie rod will hit the oil pan.
