85 carb wont idle

So i can some carb cleaner through my stock 22R carb tonight and now it wont idle.
squirted some on while the engine was cold and then like it said on the instructions for the cleaner it said to start then engine and spray puffs in while its idleing. except when i went to start it and spray the fluid in it wouldn't idle.
I also sprayed the cleaner on the outside because the cleaner said to spray the linkages and everything on the carb.

it goes fine when i get on the gas, just wont idle.
any ideas? please help and thanks.

hmm.. idle circuit? check your fuses. you also may have loosened up some sediment and it got into a jet which would basically mean a rebuild.

Idle electrics on a carburated truck?? thats what i fear... a buddy of mine just suggested it might be a vacuum leak, and i'll be testing that tomarrow.

haha yeah yeah i know i have all that electronic stuff too but all there is is the fuel cut solenoid and the electric choke. i doubt that would be it cause it has to have something to do with the carb cleaner but theres always the chance
i had a 20r doing the same thing and it was a cracked vacuum line
oh also, how much have you run the thing since the problem started? you may just need to flush some stuff through i would take er for a little drive

sounds like vacuum.i had alot of headaches with mine doing the same thing. we pretty much eliminated all the vacuum that i didn't need to make it run. we got it straightened out and it runs very strong and idles great. try 22r carb.com

well, if you sprayed the cleaner in there with it not running, odds are that some of the cleaner is in the float chamber, etc. and displacing some of the fuel and causing the rough idle. When you're spraying into the carb after it's running, keep the engine speed up by holding the throttle open slightly. When the engine starts to bog down from the cleaner, stop spraying until the engine speed recovers. And it may idle odd until any carb cleaner in the float chamber is pulled through.

I ran it out on the highway for about 20+ mins and it still wouldn't idle.
well i my dad has been redoing the wood floors in a upstairs room so i didn't get time to work on it myself, but i got time to drop it off at my mechanic and it took about 20 mins or less to find and fix a vacuum leak and no she runs great. YAY!
thanks to you all for replies.
