How do you remove the gas tank float that tells how much gas is in the tank? Also, how would one replace/fix it?

 

If you're talking about the sending unit, its a pretty easy fix (assuming its like my '81). What might not be easy to actually getting to it. I was able to get to mine because the I took the bed off for restoration. Mine had one wire harness plug in and 6 little screws and out it came. I got a new one surprisingly enough at the dealership for $95. If the bed is not off, then maybe lower the tank and it ought to be pretty straight forward.
