3vze Head Problem

I have a 3.0 and was replacing the head gaskets (shocker right?) and when i got the valve cover off the exhaust valve was seized up on the back cylinder on the drivers side. my question is the surface area that the cam presses down on to open the valve, the top surface area of that has broken off, and was laying on top of the head.
#1 what is this? I have done sever 22re with rocker arms but I'm not sure what this is called,
#2 how do i fix this? can i just take it to a machine shop and they can fix it? or can i just order a new part?
#3 the engine has 160k on it i assume i should have the valves grinded but should i replace the springs or anything like that?

Thanks for any help

Sounds to me like you are talking about the shim that is used to adjust the valve. The shim is a flat disc that fits into the top of the lifter. The valves on a 3VZ-E are adjusted by inserting the proper thickness of shim.
The machine shop should do the valve adjustment when they rebuild the heads. It is a serious pain to do the valve adjustment later.
The machine shop should know what parts need to be replaced.
