The truck will run for a few seconds once started then die if my foot isn't on the gas. if I push the pedal down a bit the rpm gauge will move up and down and the engine will shake. I revved the engine to about 5000 rpm and then let go of the gas completely and it fixed the problem for about 30 seconds then went back to shaking and sounding like it was going to die. then i tried that again but it didn't idle near 30 seconds at all. revving the engine a bunch above 2000 rpm will fix it for a couple of seconds.i don't think it shakes or runs rough above 3500 rpm. does anyone know what could be the problem?

 

Is it throwing any codes?

 

oh yeah forgot to mention that the cel flickers sometimes. it wont stay on

 

Check the CEL anyhow as it may have a stored code. Vacuum leak? Fuel injector issue?

 

ok just checked it. it is just a continuous blink, less than 1 second between flashes

 

Anybody else got any ideas ?
