3rz oil pan

I have a little oil related moisture at the rear of my engine. (97 3rz tacoma 4x4). It looks like from where it is that it is either the oil pan or rear main seal seeping a bit. I am about to change my clutch when the parts finally get here and I plan on addressing this problem at the same time. I don't know, but assume that if it is the rear main that it will be obvious when the flywheel is off. If I don't see anything there I will go ahead and change the oil pan gasket. That brings me to this question. My old 22r didn't use a gasket on the oil pan, rather the fsm said to use toyota form in place gasket compound. I don't have the fsm for this truck and was wondering if it recommends the fipg? Rockauto carries a regular gasket for the pan and I was planning on using that but want to stick with what toyota recommends. I believe that the manufacturer knows best.

From: Columbia River Gorge, Oregon...east side
The FSM specs FIPG for the oil pan gasket on the 3rz.
