3rd Gen Decals

Hi folks,

I have a 2nd Gen 3.0L V6, but its pretty gutless especially going up to the ski fields, so looking at a 3rd Gen 3.4 V6 for the extra kilowatts!

My question is around the decals on the side doors, some have 'offroad' emblazoned across the side, does this mean they have some sort of offroad package installed?

Thanks in advance.

Is there a factory off road package for the 4Runner? I don't know. I do know a lot of owners put "TRD Off Road" decals on the side of the rear fenders. Is that what you've noticed? The TRD Off Road package was an option for Tacomas. It means the truck is shipped with yellow Bilstein shocks and a rear locking differential. You can buy the decals on eBay.

No, its across the side doors, see photo. I've seen a few of these around, others will have the word 'Surf' instead, most have nothing.

Correct!
I am in New Zealand, the 4Runners here are usually referred to as 'Surfs' and are ex Japan imports.

That makes sense. Welcome to Yotatech. Also, a bump for someone familiar with Surf packages, there are a small number of them on the board.
