Still very new to the Toyota world and especially this forum. I recently picked up a 97 4runner missing it's cargo cover but has the mounting brackets still attached. I've searched a little and know that the 3rd and 4th gen covers are a different style. (square vs rounded on ends) My question is are the 96-02 and 03-09 cargo covers the same dimensions otherwise? If so can't I just swap mounting brackets and put a newer model cover in back. The reason I'm asking is I might have access to one for cheap but don't want to drive the three hours on the off-chance it might fit. Any help is much appreciated.
