22re timing chain help

I have a 94 pickup with a 22re engine. I replaced the head and gasket on it. When I started it the timing seemed like it was off(no power and sounds like it's skipping). I think I might be off a tooth on the crank gear. If it is, can I compensate for it on the cam? Any help would appreciated.

no,timing has to be right on for it ever to run right! make sure the timing marks are lined up and your dizzy is in the correct position, biggest mistake people make is being one tooth off on the dizzy.move it one tooth back and see what happens.
