2001 4Runner 3.4 rare hard cold start and die
My wife drives a 2001 4Runner 3.4 and once in a while it has a hard time starting yet most of the time it starts perfect. I changed the plugs and wires and it seemed to stop, but the other day she got the oil changed and when she pulled out it died on the road. I test drove it a couple days later and it did it again when it wasn’t warmed up yet. That was a week ago and there havent been any problems since, no codes or lights. It has 225,000 miles on it. I do feel like it’s lost a little power since I bought it with 145,000 but it’s hard for me to tell since I drive a 4.0 Tacoma now. This rig is her daily so I worry it’s starting to wear down. Any help is much appreciated.

you need to get a scanner that can show you live data. You can look at what the ECU is doing for the fuel trims, tps, coolant temp, etc.
Sometimes a sensor will read out of spec and cause issues like that but it won't throw a CEL
