I have problem that I need help with.22re My truck wont even start now and I have replace fuel pump and filter and replace the air flow meter and I still cant get it fire. Have good spark and will start when shooting starter fluid but wont run. So if any one out there good help me It would be great.

 

If you pull the plugs after cranking it over with out spraying starter fluid in it do you smell gas. Also if you crawl under the truck back by the tank and just have someone switch on the key don't try and start it you should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on. Try those two items. Also what motor is it? Have you checked to make sure your afm (air flow meter) is connected properly. IE. the wire harness that hooks it to it. That tends to be a simple fix that most of us have ran in to at least once.

 

I have done that and no pump comes on. It used to until some one screw with the air flow meter. I cant seem to find out how much tension should be on the meter flap door? Is it to be hard to open or easy that's my problem that I'm having now how to adjust the tension on the spring. Is there some way to bypass the whole meter thing or what?

 

I just found my stock one for a 93 22re and it's not a lot of pressure to open a just a hair heaver than 580 grains. I got that number from taking small weight tray and slowly added small fishing "slinky style" weights till it began to open and then stopped adding weight. So I know it probably doesn't help. I think I read either here or on pirate how to assemble an afm but couldn't remember where.
