1991 driverside cv axle replaxement

I have a 1991 SR5 4x4 pickup with a V6 and am wondering while I replace my cv axle what other parts are close by and what I should replace or check.

Replace the IFS with a Solid axle while your under there.

^This.

But in all seriousness, have fun getting the CV out. Don't plan on being able to just unbolt it and remove it. You'll have to unbolt the knuckle from the upper ball joint and remove the brake caliper and tie rod. I hope you're not going by the FSM because the directions they show are misleading. About 99% of the time the FSM is helpful, but in this case, what they show is physically impossible.

While you're down there, you might as well clean up and regrease your manual locking hubs if yours has them.

K thanks. It has the auto locking hubs as well. Do you know if the wheel bearing is close by or should it be looked at or changed.
