1986 XTra Cab swap

I have a rusty (water leaks into cab) 1986 Ext. Cab 4x4 Turbo (Turbo removed), I also have a not rusty 1986 Ext. Cab 2x4 w/22re . Will the cabs swap without mods? I know the fenders won't but will the cabs swap? Both are auto trans.

Is my post in the right place?
I would think there is a reference that would answer this post.

If you are a good fabricator/welder you can do most anything the deciding factor is time and$$$$$$.

I am not sure if the 4x4 and 2wd trucks share the same frame that is where you would need to fabricate new cab mounts and such and steering linkage perhaps.

I have never been under a 2 wd truck so I am not sure

Since the "new" cab is a 2wd, you may have to cut out the floor and weld in a hump to clear the transfer case.

Best way to get an answer to your question would be to go out and measure and compare the body mounts on both trucks yourself. I would think that everything is the same since they are both the same years.

It'll bolt right up. You will probably have to do some cutting for the transfer case shifter though.
