I'm new to Yota tech and I've got a question I couldn't find and answer for in the searches I've used so far. My 1983 Toyota pickup's oil light comes on after the engine runs for a few minutes. The light will turn off if I turn on the air conditioning, and it will turn off when I press down the accelerator but if I'm idling the oil light stays on. I checked the oil levels and they are not low, so should I start looking at my oil sensor? the oil pump? If anyone as a informed opinion or a educated guess I would appreciate the assist. Thanks.

 

it is a pressure switch on the block. when the oil pressure is not great enough to press back the spring inside than it grounds out and your light comes on.....bad switch, low oil pressure, or oil pump...

 

Infinity does the pressure switch on the block have a name or part number I can look up?
And what would I need to look for to fix low oil pressure?
