04 Taco gearing?
Hey yall.
As usual, I'm a new to this forum and not sure where to post, so apologies in advanced for not posting in the correct section. I did do a search and did not find the definitive answer I was looking for.
I am in the process of planning a build that will take place this summer. My question is what R & P ratio should I put in my 04 Taco on 37's to maintain a healthy RPM range on the highway, while keeping a decent final ratio?
The plan is to SAS my 04 5spd XtraCab Taco and put it on 37's. I will be putting a d44 with a pass side drop up front, replace the stock t-case to a dual gear setup using an Inchworm conversion and stuffing one case with 4.7 gears, and chromo everything, not to mention ARB's front and rear.
Obveously I will have no problem off road, but this truck is my DD/trail/rock/snow rig and I wanted to know what gears I should have in my diff's for highway speeds?

It would help to know what engine/ trans combo you have in your truck.
Either way, 2.7L or 3.4L your going to want 5.29's. Since you'll be running a Dana up front, a 5.38 would be the best match to the rear toyota axle with 5.29's.
If you have the 3.4 manual trans and if you plan on putting a supercharger on it you can get away with running 4.88's.
