03 Sequoia catylic converter

I have a 03 Toyota Sequoia 4x4 with the 4.7 i-force... The catylic Converters are plugged. Would it still run ok if I just took them off and piped it? I would still leave on the muffler. Would this work?

Yes it would work. Just make sure your state doesn't have any laws against it.

I've heard these newer vehicles run like crap without the catcov. Will that be the case or will I be fine?

It will cause the check engine light to be on because it's not reading the converter being there. It should run the same though

My muffler guy said it would work but he'll be on vacation for a week. I'll let you know how it goes when I get it done

Big Chief,

Hopefully, you are aware that you may have violated the Federal Clean Air Act when it comes to removing the catalytic converter. The law was expanded in 1990 to include the actions of "any person" and not just those in the service and repair industry. I suppose if your rig is now used solely off-road it may fit into some exception someplace. It's doubtful the Feds catch you, but a State agency just might notice it's missing.

In some areas, a vehicle cannot be registered with the CEL lit or if the ECU sees that the catalytic converter checks have not been run.

Just my 0.02 discounted to 0.01.
