He wants to build a 4Runner on 20's with MT tires for drifting in his backyard and is interested in whether or not others think that is a good idea.

I think you should have took some English classes instead of buying those wheels and tires.

Unless you plan on never going off road, and will never accidentally smack or run over a curb, or will never hit a pothole that is deep enough to bend a rim, etc., I wouldn't go any bigger than a 17" wheel with 33s. In fact, my 33s are on the stock 16" wheels.

I've had stock size wheels with stock size tires get bent at the rim, with one getting bent and cracked enough to immediately lose air. And this was almost all on road, with the one that lost air being bent and cracked by a pothole that wasn't all that deep. Why would I want LESS tire sidewall than stock?

I can't understand paying good money for more expensive wheels that are more likely to get damaged.

Why don't you just search the site and look at what other 4th generation owners have done. I am surprised that you have not been horribly flamed for this thread. If its going to be a street queen then you are on the right track. Do what you want with it...thats what makes it "yours"

Try t4r.org since that's primarily a 4th gen site and caters a bit more to the oversize rim crowd more than here in the same sense this forum caters to more of the off road crowd.

That's funny I had it that way at first, but it didn't look right. At least I can get my point across.

Are you saying that there is a switch, or did you put a switch in to turn off the traction control? If so, do you have any details about this?

A lifted vehicle would not be good for drifting either because of the high center of gravity...basically you'd roll way to easily
