What color to get?
Well the dealer is having a really hard time locating a Tacoma with everything I want. They did find a silver one which was my secondary color but they still can't find a white one. I still have 3 weeks before I fly up to Idaho to pick it up so I told him to look a bit more for a white one. I went to the local dealer tonite and looked at both colors and I'm torn on both. I was initially sold on the white but that Silver looks dang sharp too. That super white is really white!!! Wanted to get your guys opinion and see if anyone had any good reasons to go with one color over another. My only hang up is since I'm paying 32K for a new truck I should get the get the color I want. But on the other hand if they have to reference one it'll be 8 weeks and my vacation time will have came and went for going to get it. This sucks I can't ever decide what kind of shoes to buy let alone this..hahaha.

Your two choices are right on track. Silver and white age better than any other color. White will look more like a fleet car, while silver will look sharp for years. Silver is timeless, looks classy when you want it to look classy, and rugged whrn you want it to look rugged. Both white and silve hide scratches really well.

The reason I was leaning towards white is so it would match my 4-runner, the trailer I haul my ultralight on is white and I been wanting to get an enclosed trailer and most of them are also white. That silver does look nice though.

Personally I'd go with the silver. I'm in full agreement with what TEPUI said... My 4runner is dark green, and it only takes one day after washing it for it to look like its been gathering dust for a month.

I have a white runner and it doesn't show scraches. you gotta get up really close to see that i ran tree branches across it, not that i'm saying that you are gonna do that.
Silver is sharp but the only problem is if you need to do some touch up paint or get a paintable accesory, like a cap, the chance of it matching perfectly is verry slim. silver is one of the hardest colors to paint match.

Joey, you know I wanted a white FJC, and I said several months ago I would not buy one since it did not come in that color, and I had already owned 3 white Toyotas.
But I really dig the silver, it is sharp.
There is a silver TRD Tacoma at work, and it is very sharp.

I vote white. I test drove a white one when I was looking new and I loved it. I ended up finding a used Radiant Red one (bright red, not maroon) and jumping on it because of the great deal. At that point I hadn't seen another Red one either. 50% of the tacomas you see are silver and I don't think it looks as nice on the newer trucks for some reason. Indigo ink is also a very nice color.
$32k seems really high! You should fly down here and buy one for invoice and drive it home and see the rest of the country while you are at it!

Here's a couple side by side pics. It's not looking too good that a white one is going to show in time. My cousin is still looking though.
White with the 3" Revetek and 285's
Silver with the same set up and tinted windows
The RMX stands for Rogers Motors Extreme.. It's kinda cheezy.. Mine will have the TRD decal. They both look pretty sharp.

Silver is a four-step process: Primer Coat, Color, Metallic, Clearcoat.
White is a two-step process: Primer Coat, Color.
In theory, and maintained equally, Silver should be more durable, less prone to UV damage and easier to maintain. White will be more reflective and easier to repair...to the point when the color coat is gone.
Resale will be better on Silver. Silver hides dirt a little better than White.
I don't recall, but think Silver may come with a deeper tint window, check at toyota.com.
If you're stuck on White, I'd understand. It's a huge investment, so wait for your exact choice...ask Corey. Save the money on the fly/drive and have your dealer get an '07 and participate in the shipping cost to you. Or, maybe someone you trust could drive it to you.

Thanks for all the good inputs. There were several things mentioned in this thread that I had never thought of. The more I look at the Silver the more I like it.

Looked pretty closely at teh Tacoma's at the state fair yesterday. That white is pretty white. I still like it but I won't be dissapointed at all if I end up with the Silver one. Right now it's looking like that is what I'm going to get. The dealer is supposed to have the Silver one around the end of the month!
