I have a 03 4Runner that i just got
question is, when im in 2wheel drive, i have traction control and vehicle stability control
when i put in 4High, i still have VHS and Traction Control, how to i make it to where i can at least spin the tires if i wanted to play in mud,, right now try to take off fast and spin it will just barely crawl and beeps
and in 4Low, does that disable that VSC to where i can get the tires turning?
guess i dont understand the manual very well

also how do you use the Downhill assist Control???
i know 2 other people that cant figure that one out either, doesnt feel like it does anything to me?

 

Lock your center differential, and VSC will go off. You can do that in 4HI or 4Low.

To use DAC, just be in 4Lo... hit the button, wait for the light to come on (1 sec) and then let off the brake. You'll start to roll, then it will kick in. You'll definitely know if it worked, because it is sort of startling the first time you use it.

ok will try the differential lock
but my DAC must not work, because i dont feel a thing when i push the button and go down a hill

 

Are you in 4lo when you engage dac? Otherwise it won't work. I never use it, seems mostly worthless to me. 4lo and shifting down to 1 does just fine going down hills.

 

Is it a steep hill? It should kick in if you get going around 5mph. And yeah, it must be in 4Lo (and again, NOT touching the gas or brake).
