Special push start set up-need advice
I have a 2003 4runner limited 4.7 v8. The wife and I go to the drive in movies quite frequently and in order to not kill the battery, we have to crank it often since the key is always in the ACC position for the radio. We lay down the rear seats and watch the movies out of the back window, so I am going to put in a push button start in the rear of vehicle so I don't have to crawl into the front to crank it.
I will be leaving the key in the steering column in the ACC position, so there is no need to bypass the security system. I am looking for info on the color coding of the wires and possible requirements on the voltage/amps for the system. Also, based on my (simple) diagram, would I need any diodes?
I've searched for this info but haven't found anything, sorry if I missed it in a previous thread.

Why are you starting the truck? You are wasting more batt juice by doing that then by running the radio for 3 or 4 hours. I've left my radio on all night by accident several times and my truck still started, even on a Canadian winter morning. If you're still worried bring a spare batt to boost if needed...or leave the radio on all night at home and see if she starts ok. Sheesh...use your head, LOL. Dutchy
