Anyone have any good ideas on how to get power to off road lights mounted on a safari basket without drilling through the roof?

 

Ooooo - I was gonna offer a suggestion until you said no drilling the roof

What about the 3rd brake light?

 

I'll tell you what I did. Go through the rubber grommet that's on the back of the cab and then up the back of the cab like a CB wire. My rack is on a camper shell though. Alternatively go from the engine compartment down along the frame and to where you're going. Be sure to use wire loom and heavy duty zip ties to prevent wire-wear and a fuse to prevent grounding. Run the control wire to a switch in the cab through the firewall. ta da!

 

Run the wiring down along the frame and bring it up through the taillight(follow there wires thru the body pop out lens) back into the rear door trim (pop the trim off) run it to the top of the door then across to the middle of the door (under the trim the whole way) pop it out(extra coat of shrink tube to keep the wires from getting stripped from the rear door opening and closing) and run it to the frame of the basket and zip tie the wires the frame up to the lights(wiring all the lights in line together) done. Just how I will be doing mine , it is a second gen may be a bit different on yours but there's a real good way to start checking out without any drilling. If you do it please get pics and share the troubles or lack of.
