OME 895 and N141 vs N142 shocks?
I have an 05 Runner V6 with no aftermarket bumper or winch. I am ordering 884's and N140S for the front. The rear springs are 895's. Has anyone had experience with N141 vs N142 shocks in the rear with the 895 springs? Stiffness comparison between the two? Are the 895's too stiff for the N142's? Thanks for the input.

The n142 shocks are used for applications with a constant load of 660lbs or more. If you have that much weight I think you would want a heavy duty rear spring as well 896, if not the n142 shock will most likely be too stiff.

I am moving my V8 to the OME setup. I talked to Ben and Slee, great advice! He said the standard setup is fine for V6's. With a V8 AND a bumper AND a winch I would want the heavy?s up front. He said I would only want their heavy?s in the rear if I got a rear bumper with tire carrier (about 300lbs of weight basically hung off the back of the truck)! I would suggest you ca and talk to Ben, he won?t steer you wrong. Also consider buying from them. More $$ but they come pre-assembled, making install much easier, well for the fronts. The rear is easy period.
