Navi while driving mod

Hi anyone know of how overide the stock navi (model 17006 in a 03' 4runner) so that you can use it while u are driving?

My friend found this one for a new GS and im sure you can use it on the newer navis in the yotas.

What? You can't use the Navi while you're driving??? I haven't used a 4th Gen 4Runner navi, but I've used plenty of Lexus GX/RX models and you could use the Navi on the road. If you couldn't, it'd be pretty worthless.

by driving i mean, while you are moving forward at atleast a few mph. u cant enter address, etc. you can only select your pre registered destinations and a few other controls. but to look up POI and address, i cant atleast, is unavailable. my mom has a 06 camry with navi and its the same. my brother's GX.... not sure but im assuming its the same. on the link i provided above, thats for a new GS. sad thing is is that you have to do that button sequence everytime u start ur car.

when i go on trips in my friend's MDX which allows you to enter and search POIs while driving (honda's GPS rocks btw) i'm the navi controller and i look up destinations like "hm, what restaurant should we eat at...."

Yeah, my folks have an 05 MDX, and the Navi is great. I've test driven the new GX and RX and I am pretty sure that I was able to input addresses while on the road. If not, then I'd suggest getting an aftermarket Navi. There are quite a few now that fit flush with the stock dash (almost OEM like) and look really good.
