Help with 3" lift on 07 4runner Sport
Hi Guys,
I'm new here and have been digging around for some help with no luck. I hope someone can chime in and help me here.
I have an 07 4runner 4wd Sport with XREAS. I ordered the 3" Toytech lift and was anticipating getting the Dick Cepek DC1 rims. Today I found out at the 11th hour that the 17x9 rims are going to give me a problem so I have to find a new rim of 17x8 or 17x8.5.
My heart was set on those DC1's and the shop is telling me that they dont recommend putting a 9" width on there.
Has anyone been able to make a 17x9 fit on a 3" lift? Do I need some spacers or something?
Please help. I need to get lifted and hit the beach!
Thanks!

If your going to hit the beach, put on water wings and some suntan lotion and your set!!!
As far as the lift goes, I think 2" or 2.5" is the most you can go without having to remove the XREAS. Do and few searches and see what that brings up, I know its been discussed before. What size of tire are you going to run with the 17x9's? Slight trimming of the liner might be required regardless.

Based on some of the reviews and such I've come across I was planning on a 275/70/17, either the Mickey ATZ or the Nitto Grappler. I haven't decided.
I just need to get the rim size figured out so I can order something this weekend.... That's my issue, I'm being told by the shop that the 17x9 will give me problems and I need to go with 17x8. Anyone know if the 17x9 is doable with the 3" lift I already ordered?

Depends on the backspacing of the rim. In most cases, a 17x9 rim will stick out 1" farther than a 17x8. Do you have the backspacing specs of the rim? If not, a 17x8 is a safer bet. Spacers (if your refering to the rims in your first post) will only push the rim out farther, making the situation worse.

These are the rims I was set on getting.

Any idea which one I would need. I read somewhere else the bolt pattern of my truck is 6x139.

Try http://www.toyota-4runner.org/. There are a lot of 4th gen owners over they're and they'll probably be better suited to your questions.
