Difference between 4runner/FJ/Tacoma
Maybe this has already been explained but what is the difference between the 4Runner/FJ/Tacoma front suspension. It seems like alot of the parts are interchangeble but some are not??? I saw an Fj the other day with the "drop bracket" lift in the front and it looked sick. Why can't i put that same lift on my runner???

yeah it's on here somewhere
ALL-PRO told me over the phone that the FJ and 'runner
are exactly the same so parts are interchangeable skids,arms,springs,shocks,struts,brakes...etc
so yes if you wanna go 6" with dropped brackets
on a 4runner
it looks like now ya can

FJ uses different shocks and springs than the 4Runner afaik. You also will definatly want to contact those bracket lift companies if they feel the FJ kit will work on a 4Runner. Just because it fits doesn't mean it will work. The FJ is much lighter and doesn't have a v8 up front, for example.

this might come off wrong...don't wanna sound like an ASS in only my tenth post
OME specs the same spring rates and struts FJ/4runner/Taco
and every one else does on there coilovers as well
i have three friends with new Tacos
and i do really like the look of the FJ
i also LOVE my 4runner and am a little pissed that it has been all
but ignored for the last 4 years in the after market until this amazing new
wonder truck, the FJ, comes out and there is product in store before the
truck hits the dealers(...exageration
)
it's the same stink'n truck
they're all a PRADO
so yes the factory does put a longer spring on the FJ/Taco up front
but its all the same mechanicaly speaking
roughly 300lbs in weight (two adults)
and 3" in wheel base (about a credit card)
just a rant...sorry

There are definitely differences in frames and accessory mounting points so skid plates will not bolt up without modification (been there/done that with a Downey skid plate). The diff drop brackets might have similar issues.
