Okay, So I am planning on going to a few dealerships this weekend and see who has the best deal up front. After days and days of research, I have decided EXACTLY what I want, except the color!!

A 2008 Tacoma Double Cab V6 4x4 Automatic Short Bed with the TRD Sport Package #1. At Invoice cost and the total cost of the package, we are at $27,122 so far.

For the options, I need the bed mat at $125, curtain airbags at $650, the interior light package at $249, lighted color keyed running boards (helps the gf get in and out) $599, the roof rack at $299, leather seats at $1399 and of course the v6 towing package at $650. so now we have another $3971.00 in options bringing the total ticket (assuming i get it AT invoice) to a grand total of $31,093.00

Southeast Toyota is offering $750 cash back right now, which will bring it down to $30,343.00, not too bad for a brand new truck with every option I could ever want on it! My goal here is to get the truck for $30k + tax, tag and title, does that seem unreasonable, or should I aim for $30k out the door?

I have no fear of walking out of a place or telling a sales rep exactly how it needs to be in order for me to pay 30k for a new truck.

Now the only questions I have left are, should I just say screw it about the lighted running boards and get some rock sliders that will work as steps? I do take my grandmother around when she needs me to, will sliders make it harder for her to get in over reg. running boards? In order to get into my truck she has to use a step stool and be helped in and out (shes mid 80's)

The other questions is...

Black sand pearl, or super white? I dont like blue trucks, dont want a red one, and I hate that sand color, and last time I had a silver truck birds didnt seem to see it on foggy days and kept flying into it

A lot of good information on here already so I'll just comment that I ordered the exact Tacoma I wanted last year with airbags, stability control and other options and paid $118 over invoice. There wasn't any cash back at that time so you should be able to do even better. Of course I know how stingy the Southeast dealers can be since I used to live there.

From what I've seen in the past, you can't get the side air bags without getting a bunch of other options, including the VSC+TRAC, 6 disc JBL, and what amounts to the Tacoma high end package.

For pricing, I worked through fleet/internet sales here in Colorado, and my package (similar to what you want, but with the TRD OR), was around $28 (MSRP was up near $33).

isnt there something about how you cant do any maintenance yourself, that you have to take it to a dealer for ANYTHING related? oil, spark plugs, air filters, etc? or the warranty is void? or is that strictly GM?

Not true for Toyotas, and seems questionable (illegal?) that any auto-maker could make such a blanket policy.

So I have been looking but it seems almost impossible to find a tacoma with the options I desire so I am now entertaining the idea of a 4Runner. How close to invoice pricing can you get a new 08 4Runner for these days? The one I am currently looking at is right around 36.5k on the sticker and closer to 33.5k at invoice, so what do I offer?

On a side note, do the dealer and I agree on the price I will pay BEFORE or AFTER I figure out how to pay for it? Does leasing make me have to pay sticker?

okay guys... after searching around for a 4wd v8 sport i found ONE in the state of florida that wasnt spoken for yet.

its a 2007 Sport Edition 4WD V8 with 63 miles on the odometer. and since it is an 07 i figured i could get a real good price on it... so a thousand below invoice later... well basically its mine now, here are the pics and im going to start a new thread with more pictures when i take delivery on wednesday.

Congrats, Kyle! That's exactly the model I'd get if I were looking. The Sport alone has bigger brakes, unique wheels, hood scoop, special seats and the optional on Limited X-REAS suspension that's Toyota engineering at it's best. It's everything you'll want in a great SUV and will last a lifetime if well cared for (dozens of links around here to help with that).

That's not true with any brand due to the Moss-Magnuson act, which is a federal law that says that the warranty must pay unless a componant failure was specifically caused by non-factory parts or modifications.

Even if a failure was caused by non-factory parts or modifications, the warranty for the rest of the truck would still be in effect. Only the componant that failed wouldn't be covered.

My family owns a place in the Ocala National Forest near Alexander Springs. I have been wanting to go to Richloam and haven't had the chance. My brother goes there in his '92 Bronco with a group, but I haven't made it there yet.

One day I plan on taking my 4 wheelers there.
