Brakes

I usually use Toyota pads but I have been using Meyle brand rotors on my last few Toyota truck brake jobs. The OE pads have good stopping power, aren't too dusty, and don't squeak. Although when it's time to do pads on my 05 I might try some Hawk's if they make them. The brakes in my truck have sucked since day one.

about 6 months ago I used NAPA brake pads - their top of the line $70 pads. Thick black dust everywhere within one week.
Last week I went to Toyota and bought the $65 factory pads.
No dust.......problem solved.

Hard to go wrong with OEM.
That said if I requested one thing and the dealer/shop put on another without asking me there would be a ˟˟˟˟ storm. Totally unacceptable behavior for a shop. If it's a dealer that won't install other brands they need to tell you that up front and not go behind your back.
