2007 4runner limited in snow/ice?

howdy... i've had almost every generation of 4runner since '88, but have never dealt with consistent snow and ice. my 07 limited will be wintering in jackson wyoming (and making trips outside of snow country throughout winter). for that reason i'm guessing that my best bet is new A/T tires (right now I just have the stock dueler h/t tires). any suggestions/recommendations?

thanks
alex

I live in the rocky mountains and I've been doing a lot of research and I plan to get the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour's for this winter. They are mud and snow rated and get great reviews and have a 50K mile warranty. I don't think you could do any better than these in the snow unless you have a dedicated snow tire like the Bridgestone Blizzaks.

thanks! i just researched those and they seem to be the best tire no one talks about... it's AT KO and revo in most forums, but the S/As have hardly any bad reviews, esp in snow and ice.

I use the BFG All-Terrain T/As too, but the rubber gets as hard as a hockey puck when it get really cold, and thus loses flexibility and contributes to a rough ride. If you really want traction, either Blizzaks or Nokian Hakkapeliittas in SUV 5 or LT format are the best. The Nokians are expensive, but if you've ever driven on a set of them, they are head and shoulders above everything else available.

I had Nitto Terragrapplers and they were great in all sorts of winter conditions (as well as nonwinter conditions). My experience with other tires is limited but I think you would be hard pressed to go wrong with these. They are very reasonably priced as well.
