You guys all are great, and I hope that with all this advice and help you've given me, I'll be able to make you proud with my lift. (still anxiously awaiting its arrival)

And don't worry, I'll post after completion with a more summarily-written post.

DO you already have the front kit? If so what is in it exactly?

HHmmmm no bumpstops. I notice there is no bump stops front and rear, wont that cause an issue?

ALso Extreme_Offroad has a thread with free daystar lift for somebody in AZ wuth XREAS, maybe you can convince him to do a So Cali!!!

I'm still waiting for my front and rear, bummer.

I have one last question ... guys ... since I have XREAS, do I need to lift all four wheels, or can I do the lift by first lifting the front, installing the spacers, and then doing the back separately?

Also, I'm having trouble jacking it up enough with my floor jack to get the tires off. It's been a PITA so far, and I have no doubt that tomorrow when I try to do the lift it will be even harder! But ... I do need to know if I can do the front, then the back, or if I have to have all four wheels off the ground to do anything...

help!

You can just do the front first and then work on the back. Which means if you only have 2 jack stands then that's fine.

I have four jack stands ... but two are 6ton rated and the other two are only 2.5ton ... and I don't like the idea of using two such different weight-rated sets ... I'm having trouble jacking it up because I can't do it in the front where it shows, because the skid plates are in the way. ugh.

Take of the front skid plates, only four bolts. It should give a clear view of where to put the jack in to lift up the front end.

You might also want to use a nice solid block of wood to put between the jack and the frame to give you extra lift. About 6"by6" and 4" high should be good. Make sure you position it properly as it increases the risk of the jack slipping a lot!!!!! Or put the whole floor jack on a pice of woord or metal that is big enough to cover all wheels and flat, while giving you the extra lift you need.

It will probably be safer to just the lift the front and rear seperately, as you will have wheels supporting the other end. ALso I know you know it and everybody knows it, but put blocks by the wheels on the ground to prevent it moving. SOunds stupid by I have and many of my friends forgot to do it, sometimes with bad results.

MOst importantly HAVE FUN!

I was trying to take off the skid plates, but I couldn't get the bolts loose!

What if I jack it up at the frame side rail?

I usually lift using the ladder portion and just place the jacks on either side....

Or you can use the front cross member as well. Any cross member section should be fine. Ofcourse don't go under your truck until you have the front secured

You only need to get the front part of the skid plate off, the part under your oil filter. These bolts need to be easy, otherwise oil filter changes will be impossible.

You canlift on the frame side, the problem is that one side will be on the jack stand when you try to lift the other side. Not a good position, but still do able, again be very careful if you do this as the truck might want to slide a bit to the side with the jack stand.

Also you will see a hole in the skid plate, their is a "bushing" above it mounted on the skid plate that goes to the front cross member. This should be able to handl the weight so you can just lift it there.

Thanks guys ... I will try that tomorrow. I know the bolts should not be so tight, but I absolutely cannot seem to get them untightened at ALL.

Umm... I didn't take my skids off to remove my suspension... have you tried lifting the truck using your ladder frame or cross members?

They advise to lift it on the front cross member on the instructions, which is hidden by the skid plates. However I took of the front part of the skidplates and there seems to be a spacer or bushing like 5-6" in diameter mounted to the skidplate that actually aligns with the front cross member. So you should be able to lift the Runner there???? What do you guys think?

It's got like a 1" hole in the skidplate that is the center (hole) of the spacer.
