thanx lance- i will talk pretty extensively w/the guys/gals at our local version of discount tire, as well as test fitting. hopefully, the only real rubbing occurs on the bumpers as i will be replacing those soon (at least the front, will see about the rear).
timber- did you already do the rev-tek in the rear?

Ok so lets post the final heights for info for other people:
Before:
Front 33.5"
Back 35.7"
After Daystar lift (supposed to be 2.5" front and 2" back)
Front 36" (Settled a little down to 36" from a tad bit over)
Back 37.5" settled to 37.25" (Basically 1.75" lift which settled to 1.5")
Revos (265/70/17) added 0.5"
So final
Front 36.5"
Back 37.75"
Measure now and see how much your lift settled, so we know before, after and after it settled if any. Would be interesting data for other folks looking at lifts for 4th Gen. and just fun for us (cause I'm not going to change soon )

I'm sorry, but i've been reading all morning, but am so confused now ...
Once a lift is added to a 4th Gen w/XREAS (17" wheels), what is the largest tire that will fit without having to hack parts off? Today, I have the Dunlop AT20 Grandtrek P265/65R17.
The 2 Lifts I'd consider (today) are the 3" Revtek and the 2.5" Daystar.
I would like to use BFG All-Terrain T/A® KO LT285/70R/17/D. Will these fit? If not, how much hacking will need to occur? Removal of factory mud flaps? Cutting what else?
What about LT265/70R17/C?
I know this has been posted many times, but the info is all over the place and comes in piece meal. I think the 3" lift and 285/70R/17 will work, but need some assurances.

largest tire that will for sure fit = 265/70/17.
02Runner assures me that 285s will require hacking off a LOT, not to mention that they will rub on the upper a-arm unless you do the 3" lift AND find another way to get even more lift.
If you attempt 285s on the stock wheels, you'll need a new upper a-arm, or wheel spacers (not recommended), or new wheels. Otherwise, you'll need to hack the hell out of the front fender cups, and even then they'll rub on the upper a-arm.
265/70/17s will fit for certain, as they would fit even without the lift.
I hope this helps.

Thanks 4Route. It sure does help a lot. 265/70/17 suits me. Now the final descision is Daystar or Revtek. It will probably come down to local resources and cost.

Daystar costs less because it doesn't come with extra, longer rear shocks ... Revtek costs more because it does. But, since you have XREAS, you won't be able to use the longer rear shocks ... nonetheless, I really love my 3" Revtek lift. It is 3" up front and 2.5" in rear. It costs more, but it gives you more lift, and I would recommend it for sure. If cost wasn't a variable, I'd say go with Revtek ... but if you're worried about cost, Daystar does cost less.
Are you going to install it yourself???
PM me or whatever if there's anything I can do to help in your decision process. There are good write-ups on the lift too ...
I put the 3" Revtek on mine, and bulldog put the 2.5" Daystar on his ... timber put the 3" Revtek, Mark is about to do the 3" Revtek ... but a lot of other guys have done the 2.5" Daystar, too, so really, it all depends on personal choice and the $$ you have available to spend.

I won't be installing it. Have to find someone locally to do the work and supply the harware ... someone who's knowledgable and reliable. That's gonna take a bit of time to research ...
I do travel frequently to Oregon (Salem and Portland), so that's another avenue.
Am in the Vancouver, British Columbia area.
Thanks again.

well, good luck on your search, but don't forget that if you don't find a place that you trust to handle things carefully around the XREAS system, this is something you can do yourself as well. best of luck.

erm ... I don't know the part numbers ... sorry.
just ask for the Revtek 3" kit for an '03 4Runner, or a Daystar 2.5" kit for the same.
maybe some of the other guys will know the part numbers.
bump.
