Cool guys!
Yes actually I think they really do enter into a database for ARB Austraila to determine which products to make first.

Thank you for our inquiry to us here at ARB.

Unfortunately, ARB does not offer a front bumper for this specific truck. It is currently one of the most popular bumpers requested.

I have taken your name; email address and bumper request and entered it into our database. If and when this part is available, ARB will contact you with that information.

Scott Cohen and Jim Jackson are top notch people. Whatever they say is what they will do - you can count on that...

Nice to see that in late 2005, they're FINALLY getting a 2003+ 4runner that's been out for 3 years now to the shop for a test-fit...

a response like "if it works we'll let you know" from a manufacturer doesn't instill much confidence from me for anything anytime soon

by the way, how different are the 05 Taco front ends from the 03+ 4Runner? there are some nice bumpers being made for the Tacos, I just wish they would fit the 4th gen. 4Runner too (like many of the front suspension kits). Yarr.

they answered my question and also wrote regarding the 4th gen. bumper:

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry to us here at ARB.

Currently, ARB is test fitting a Bull Bar for the 2005 model Toyota 4
runner. This is in the design stages, and an actual model should be
available by early of next year.

The 2005 Toyota Tacoma bumper is different and will not fit the 4 Runner
models.

I have taken your name; email address and bumper request and entered it into
our database. This database is being constantly reviewed, and if or when
this part is available, ARB will contact you with that information. Thank
you for being patient.

Best Regards,

I've been writing to them since Nov/03. Last response was July 6/05:

Chris,

Bad news- possible good news at this point.

Bad news is they have put the '03+ 4Runner bar on hold in favor of the new
bodied Tacoma (2005+) and it should be done by mid-summer. The Taco bar has been our #2 seller for a couple years, so they are real keen on getting the
new model done.

Possible good news it might fit the 4Runner as the sheetmetal is very
similar and the chassis mounting is almost identical.

We have your email in our request file, so if this new Taco bar fits,
we'll send over an email to let you know.

Best Regards,

I guess it didn't fit the 4Runner.

I know ... but maybe when they wrote me, they hadn't gotten to actually test it yet, and were just guessing. They did mention that they didn't have a 4th gen. to test it on ...

I offered mine each time ... ARB-USA is only 2 hours away. I do believe the Taco got their attention over our requests. They have to go where the market is and I can see there is no market around here as it's all soccer moms or biz men going to lunch. In fact, I've yet to see anyone that comes close to mine and I've hardly done any mods in comparison to others on this forum -- save for a few scratches ;-)

But I also see many new taco's running around. Many are stock TRD models with the same BS dunlop tires on! Getting off topic now ...

http://www.bigcountrycustoms.com/

(username = yeaitsme)

I bug him alllll the time about making a 4th gen. bumper (front and rear) and he has said he just can't find one up there to fit them to. Are you anywhere near him?

Funny you should ask....I got to see the Prado with the bumper as well as photos of a 4th gen with the bumper. Official word from ARB is 6 months however - if you are really impatient you can buy a Prado bar from austrailia. They can get it to the US in about 2 weeks. The Prado bar will fit by cutting a few brackets and light fabircation. My good friend who works there says he could probably get the exact details on the modifications necessary if someone was interested.

It looks absolutly fabulous!!

Ok so heres the deal, I emailed them again, and they said that they DO have a prototype, but they are waiting back on some specs from Toyota. They told me that it should be avaliable by early/spring 2006

Don't the Prado Sahara bar fit in the 4Runner?

Here we don't have 4th Gens but we have Prados (Well, here are Land Cruiser 120/125's).

This is from a friend of mine:

I've all but given up on ARB ... excerpts from email I received from their Seattle office:

04/19/2004: "We do not have any plans on doing anything for the 03+ Toyota 4Runner"
04/22/2004: "We hope to have it by the fall"
04/23/2004: "We are currently (today) modifying a Prado bar to get the final specs to give to Australia for the 4Runner."
05/10/2004: "We are working on a bullbar for the '03 4Runner and should have it ready by summer."
01/10/2005: "Still working on it ... Unfortunately the factory didn't like our prototype, so they are doing a design of their own and will be going into production with the bar sometime this year."
07/06/2005: "Bad news is they have put the '03+ 4Runner bar on hold in favor of the new bodied Tacoma (2005+) and it should be done by mid-summer."

Considering these 4th generations are going into their 3rd year, it seems that ARB doesn't think there is a market.

Today's ARB Response

When I asked ARB today what the target was for releasing the bumper for a 2004 T4R Sport, here's the reply I got back.

"We are waiting for Toyota to release to us some CAD data on the vehicle so we can do a proper bumper. The vehicle is not sold in Australia where our design and manufacturing is done so we have to rely on Toyota to get us the information. It has been promised to us but we don't yet have it. At this point I am hoping for a spring release on the new bumper."
