2006 4runner 2wd REAR BEARINGS OUT

2006 4runner both rear bearings went out and the dealership is telling me that I need to purchase two hubs and that the bearings cannot be replaced independently, yet they sale the bearings independently for 125 and the hubs r a grand. Any help with this would b appreciated. Don't wanna get screwed!

Pretty sure thats wrong. Should be a solid axle like all the others. In that case you would need 2 bearings, 4 retaining rings, 2 abs tone rings, 2 axle seals, 2 axle o-rings, gear oil and brake fluid. This is a job i dont recomend as a do-it-yourself. The need of a press and cutting the retainers and abs rings. Could save some money by pulling the axles yourself. Then taking them to the shop.

ditto

same process as with the older axles, just a couple more things on these like the ABS rings and what-not

that's what I did with my 91; bought new bearings and seals, pulled the axles myself, and just brought them to a buddies shop and that cost me nothing but a couple beers
