08 Limited BFG AT Tires

It has been a while since my last post. Got a new '08 4Runner limited last weekend. Had an '03 and this was my favoritie vehicle I have owned and traded in. So it was no brainer to get a new one.

Can I fit the BFG AT in a 265-65-18 without any mods or rubbing on the '08?

Other options are welcome. I am looking for quiet on the road and medium off-roading ability.

Thanks in advance...it is nice to be back.

53 views and no replies. I have searched, on Yotatech and the Internet in general, relentlessly to virtually no avail. No one with any alternatives to the stock Michelins Cross Terrain in 265-60-18, or 265-65-18?

If it rubs, you can just take a hammer to the pinch welds. Just bend everything the tire hits out of the way.

Thanks for the reply. In the last 10 days I have searched over and over. You answer confirms what I have read. Some no rub, some rub a little. I am leaning more toward the Goodyear Silent Armor in stock size. The get better revies on Tirerack than the BFGs.

Thosen "reviews" are just people's opinions and should be taken with a grain of salt since most of those people have no real background to judge a tire since even my grandma could give an opinion on there and she doesn't know one tire from another.

The GYs aren't really the same tire as a BFG so a mildly educated opinon doesn't mean much to me when I'm tire shopping. BFG ATs are a so-so street tire that kicks butt off road but the GYs are pretty new but don't seem as well suited for off road as the BFGs or even Nitto TGs.

Agreed with a grain of salt. I did drill down into the reviews on the GYs that were on-off road use.

I have read supposed educated reviews of the BFG on 4x4 forums; some guys like 'em, some hate 'em.

Thank for the feedback. I have not decided for sure one way or the other.
