A bed mat isn't needed either, except to keep stuff from sliding around.
A bed mat is almost a must have in the new trucks, its the only way to keep stuff from sliding. The plastic bed only keeps the bed from rusting, but sliding is a huge problem on the 05+, I did one road trip without my bed mat, and that was a mistake.

And the tailgate isn't too strong, there are many complaints about broken ones, there is even a TSB to strengthen the tailgate. One of the reasons I didn't do the bed extender.. the other is that the tailgate and extender will bounce when on dirt roads..

That's good info about the tailgate, I'll have to keep that in mind.

William, I wasn't talking about a spray-in liner. Husky Liners are the floor mats that are custom made for vehicles, the absolute BEST floor liners one can buy.

The bed mat I have heard is a must. I have also heard the Cargo Divider is a nice addition but kind of pricey to keep bigger things that may slide at bay, something to think about at least.

I am also now considering the TRD seat covers for the Sport seats. But first priority is to save as much $$$$ as I can for a down payment so my monthly bill won't be so huge.

Thanks for all the input guys!

Sorry about the misconception. With the word "liner" being used, I pictured either a drop in or spray in liner.

I have a couple pics requests.

1. If you have a Double Cab Sport 05+ (preferably black) with the front skid plate, please post up a pic.

2. If you have a Double Cab Sport 05+ (preferably black) with the front hood protector please post up a pic.

3. If you have a Double Cab Sport 05+ (preferably black) with the vent visors, please post up a pic.

4. If you have a Double Cab Sport 05+ (preferably black) with a camper shell on the back, please post up a pic.

I'm trying to get an idea of what all of this would look like.

You don't need to go out of your way to take a pic but if it's not hard to or you already have one that would be awesome!

Thanks,

Fink

Jacket, you da man! There were some sweet Tacoma's on there.

A lot of those guys ruined the Tacoma's by putting those blingin rims on em...that just totally jacks up the look IMO, I'm not bashing them...but for me, I wouldn't waste the money on it.

Thanks for the link Jacket, that helped a lot.

If you guys don't mind, go ahead and post up the pics of your own rigs with the stuff that I was talking about before. The more pics the better!!

Thanks again, guys!

Don't all of the Sports have the front skid plate? I know the Off-Road's do. The optional piece is often referred to as a skid plate, but its really just a thin steel/aluminum, silver-colored "cover" for the beefy(er) black skidplate underneath. I never really understood that as its going to get ripped up off-road.

That skid plate is a toyota one, but not the OEM one. The OEM one the OR's have is just stamped black sheet metal.

As far as the vehicle shield package. I did a ton of reasearch before purchasing my new vehicle. What I came up with is a process that people who show there vehicles prefer over these " space age polymers". If you search, the same result will come up I'm sure. Step 1 Klasse All in one cleaner, Step 2 Klasse Glaze, and I went with the Step 3 P21S 100% Pure Carnuba Wax. I went with the P21s because the Pinnacle that people were also recommending was $85. If you use this method on a new vehicle, you will not be disappointed. Especially if it's on a dark vehicle. People have decribed it as a wet look wax job. The surface actually looks liquid. So, save you money it's not worth it. Buy this stuff, it works! Concourse sells it reasonably. Good luck!

It's been awhile since I've been on YT...sorry if I left any of you hangin.

Originally the ETA of the truck was going to this Saturday the 18th but it has been pushed back a week. It's in the final assembly stage right now and the new ETA is on or before 8/25.

I'm stoked!!!

Thanks for all the help on here...now my biggest debate is WeatherTech floor liners or the tried and true Huskies??? The WeatherTech's look a heck of a lot nicer and more modern but the Huskies are what I know...anybody know anything about the WeatherTechs?

Use the flux capacitor and go to the future and grab us some pics

I bet you are excited.
I know the feeling from when I counted down the final days of picking up my new rig.
