where are you going to get the replacement? if your going to a junkyard take a pic of yours and bring it with you...it should be the same but i had probs with swaping distributors too, but that was a 20R...

So i bought a distributor off of a 94 from craigslist. but the plug for the sending unit is different, so i cut and spliced the wires to fit and the truck started up but runs like crap....so i picked up another form a 90, but the plug is exactly like the one on the 94...wtf???.....did they change it sometime during 1990?....should i just look for one from a 1st gen runner? is the 3vze engine the same?

There's 2 different part numbers for 3.0 distributors in '90.

19100-65010
19100-65020

The same numbers are listed all the way from '88-'95, so unfortunately I can't help you with that. My diagrams don't show any different plug styles.

ok so i picked another one up lastnight off craigslist for the 3rd time!....and finally this one matches up!...i noticed when u take out the distributor and look at the gear, the shaft extends past the gear....the other's that i have been trying to use didn't have that extention, and also the external coil plug did not fit well, which caused the ruff idle!...*duh!*..*slaps self on head*. anyways thanks to those who helped.
