You have to take your drums off to remove the parking brake..........
You should just be able to remove the pin and remove the cable for the ebrake.
If i am just swapping a third, I'll leave the brake lines connected and you can slide the shafts out far enough to pull the third.
Pulling the third is a really easy job to do.

Man I wish! I couldn't do that in either rig and kept thinking to myself "Why in the heck didn't Toyota make the line about 3 inches longer??"

Just a bit of advice, if you don't want the studs coming off on the third, shoot all the nuts with some penetrating oil and wait awhile before loosening. The nuts should come right off without the studs. My .02 worth.....

Ah, thanks guy. I figured yotatech has helped me alot.. and i mean alot.
This is just a little something to help. To be honest, i planned out the entire way of presenting it because i know on first hand what it feels like going into something for your first time. I wish i did one for the timing chain, i know it would have been way more detailed then this one.
Thanks alot guys!

Mine is a 89 pickup found some 94 4runner488 v6 auto thirds.
Also what gasket do I look for? The 4runner or the pickup or does it matter?
