i wouldnt be happy, but i would just have to adjust my price...
but like i said, im NOT going to produce any product for anyone other than myself...

and abe, with that frame of mind, you think that the companies that make aftermarket replacement parts with factory specs for cheap and sell them at oreileys/kragens/autozone/napa are unethical???

so I guess that if I had the source-code to Windows 7, I can tell everyone about it but as long as I don't sell it I haven't done anything wrong?

Abe, didnt you just download the fsm that someone posted that was from ITS database. You didnt pay for it but yet gladly downloaded it right. Your not selling it but you sure would take it for yourself correct?

and parts that are common among many vehicles, by design or implementation, are not the same as 'one off' parts. ball joints are not unique among cars... tie rod ends are not unique among cars... a 22re exhaust manifold IS unique, but a header is not the same as the manifold.

Im not trying to be rude but come on. This is getting out of hand. If he wants to post measurements so that others can make said part for themselves and to NOT sell, then vendors shouldnt have a problem.

lysmachia already asked that the specs NOT be posted up, so i ask everyone to respect her word...

and abe... if i had the sourcecode to windows 7, i WOULDNT tell anyone about it... or at least give it out or sell it...

but i would use it myself... you keep arguing your point with the idea that im going to give away or sell anything that i make... but i clearly said that i wasnt...
understandable that you are playing devils advocate here, but please, if your going to argue a point, then at least compare apples to apples...

as i said before abe, if you had the materials to make a much needed LSPV at your disposal, would you make one yourself knowing full well that it is a unique part instead of dropping 30 bucks for one online and then having to wait for it???

and FWIW, abe, i still respect you and your ideas/help 100%...

You are assuming that I will use the manual, no? ... you are assuming I will take the manual and make some use of it... and I bet people are hoping I share it? So now you've taken which position? It's okay to use it, or not? You have assumed I have downloaded it and am using it for some nefarious purpose... ...around my abode are several manuals which I've paid for. Are you sure this manual isn't a digital copy of one I already have?

Have fun speculating.

I suppose one of the next posts I make must be one stating something along the lines of:
"several of the manuals indicate your problem can be fixed but I'm not allowed to tell you how due to the information in the manual is copyrighted and subject to trade secrets and / or patents"

Wow, All i said was that you downloaded the manual correct? That you didnt buy it right? but you are not selling it right? and you condone sharing it as that is how you received it correct? There is no speculation when you state what you have done. This is not argument. This is ridiculous as space-junk said moderator would not like said measurements shared so thats that. Just remember that your point on ethical is weary. I appreciate the help you have given me in the past im not trying to argue nor be little anyone here its just my opinion.

funny how we've went from copying proprietary designs for ball-joint spacers to the ethical application of a service manual.....

I might say that 'this is the troubleshooting procedure for that part', but I would never say 'here, take this, and make a thing that looks just like that, and you'll get another 1-2" lift and some extra wheel travel'. I don't charge people for my thoughts, but I will charge people for my creations... and I hope no one else here would do me wrong in that way either.
